Picture

Hosting events in the metaverse is an exciting and innovative way to engage with attendees in a virtual environment. In Venu, you aren’t trapped in a box on a screen — you can move around freely and check out company’s booths, have spontaneous conversations to network, and engage with speakers and panelists. Here are a few tips to host a great event in the metaverse!
  1. Engage your audience: Have speakers, panels, or a presentation in order to give your attendees information to take in and discuss. On Venu, presenters can broadcast a slideshow or show videos using our screen sharing feature. Additionally, there is a Q&A chatbox for the audience to communicate with the speakers and panelists.
  2. Have breakout sessions: In addition to keynote speeches and panel discussions, it's a good idea to have breakout sessions where attendees can network and engage with each other. Beforehand, attendees can be matched to one another based on industry, or if you of any similarities two attendees might have to connect. Time dedicated to networking gives attendees the chance to connect.
  3. Utilize demo booths: Venu offers personalized demo booths for registered companies, which include company photos, a demo video, and contact information for each organization. The booths allow attendees to see who's at the event and explore companies and products that they hope to connect with.
  4. Promote your event: Just like any other event, it's important to promote your metaverse event to ensure a large turnout. This can include social media, email marketing, and other forms of online advertising.
  5. Keep in mind the technical aspect: Make sure to check the technical aspects of your event, like internet connection, device compatibility, and system requirements. It’s a great idea to send attendees the link to the event before it begins, that way they can limit potential technical difficulties and explore the metaverse.
Overall, hosting events in the metaverse can be a great way to engage with attendees in a unique and exciting way. By following these tips and utilizing the features offered by platforms like Venu, you can host a successful event in the metaverse.

3rd Biannual Y Combinator Startup Demo Day - Summer 2022 Batch

9/8/2022

The 3rd biannual Y Combinator (YC) Startup Demo Day was held on September 8th, 2022 in the Venu metaverse, in conjunction with Y Combinator's in-person Demo Day in Mountain View, California. Powered by Venu, this virtual event platform provided a unique and immersive experience for founders, investors, and tech giants to connect and collaborate.
For those unfamiliar with YC, it is a startup accelerator that helps founders turn their ideas into companies. Its Demo Day is a biannual event where founders pitch and demo their products in front of a room full of YC's top tier investors. This year, Demo Day in the metaverse was especially exciting as it provided founders with the opportunity to connect with A-grade investors and build corporate partnerships, all while meeting their next customers and partners.

The event featured startup lightning round pitches, networking sessions, an expo, and exhibitors showcasing their products. Among the attendees were Venu, the host of the conference, and Demigos, a keynote speaker and sponsor. Demigos is a custom software development solutions provider for startups and companies based in Ukraine. They offer a range of services including custom software development, MVP development, and IT consulting.
Angel and VC investors in attendance included SamsungNext, Gaingels, KDDI Open Innovation Fund, Goodwater Capital, Cointelligence Fund, Halo Labs, and Venture Garage. These investors were able to connect with founders using Venu's matchmaking algorithm and participate in networking sessions to explore potential investment opportunities.
In addition to traditional VCs, the event also featured equity crowdfunding platforms such as Start Engine and Wefunder, which provide an alternative method of fundraising for startups. With the current global economic downturn and many VCs pulling back on funding, these platforms are becoming increasingly popular for founders looking to raise capital. Tech giants like Meta and Samsung were also in attendance, highlighting the importance for big companies to keep their finger on the pulse and the great opportunity for startups to network and build partnerships.

YC founders in attendance included Venu, Hyperbeam, Expent, Cloudthread, Interlock, Safebeat RX, simplifyd, withfriends, fini, Atlas, apptr, Vimmerse, and Molecular Reality. These founders were able to showcase their products and pitch to potential investors, customers, and partners.
The experience of attending Demo Day in the metaverse was truly exciting, as it brought together YC founders and investors from all around the world. Attendees didn't have to worry about the costs and logistics of travel, especially during the ongoing pandemic, and were able to connect, network, and pitch their companies with a single click of a link.

The significance of this event being held in the Venu metaverse cannot be overstated. The virtual event platform provided attendees with the opportunity to save time and money on travel, while also offering a more efficient matchmaking networking experience. The system was able to match attendees with their potential investors, customers, and partners based on their company one-liner, ensuring that everyone was able to make the most out of their time at the event.

But the benefits of attending Demo Day in the metaverse extended far beyond cost and efficiency. The immersion and freedom to walk around and talk to people, listen in on conversations, and have spontaneous conversations made the experience feel much more lifelike than traditional 2D video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Hopin. Attendees were able to give and see live demos at expo booths, walk around and explore the expo, and leave with scheduled calls and investor and sales leads.

As the world begins to emerge from the pandemic, it is clear that the metaverse is going to play a major role in the future of events and conferences. The ability to host hybrid events, combining both in-person and virtual components, will allow attendees to enjoy the best of both worlds – access and experience. The Venu metaverse provides a truly unique and exciting platform for event organizers to host their events, and the Y Combinator Startup Demo Day is just one example of the power and potential of virtual reality events.

If you or someone you know wants to blow your attendees' minds with a metaverse event experience, reach out to the Venu team and start hosting your own metaverse event today! Whether you're an event organizer, founder, investor, or tech giant, the Venu metaverse is the virtual events platform of choice for creating immersive and engaging experiences for attendees. Don't miss out on the future of events – join the metaverse today.

In-person conferences are exciting because people get to walk around and have spontaneous conversations with like-minded strangers. Why should virtual conferences be any different?
Venu is a Silicon Valley startup aiming to be the virtual venue where event organizers host 3D virtual conferences, trade shows, and expos. Venu is a virtual reality conference platform accessible on your Windows or Mac computer or virtual reality headset. You can book a demo to host your event today.

The kind of experience you can create on Venu:

Expo Booths
Networking Breakouts
Q&A Panels
Venu has been a venue for various industries; tech with Microsoft; healthcare with Global Pandemic Coalition; gaming with Global Game Jam; environmental with Earth Day Summit.

Pioneers in virtual reality technology, the team started building Venu late 2019 to solve its own problem to host conferences with shorter lead time, more tickets sold, higher quality content, and lower cost than in-person conferences. When Covid-19 became a global pandemic, Venu became the clear choice for creating true to life experiences compared to hosting a conference on traditional video call software.

The Bay Area-based team is comprised of five co-founders with five years’ experience hosting conferences and developing social multiplayer enterprise VR applications and games. Venu became a Y Combinator company Winter 2021.
